From June 27 to July 31 and from August 18 to October 18, 2022, Siena Cathedral unveils its magnificent marble commesso floor, the result of five hundred years of artistic expression, a symbolic journey in search of the highest values of the human spirit: as in heaven, so on earth.
The precious polychrome marble carpet is extraordinary, unique, not only for the technique used, but also for the message of the figurations, a constant invitation to wisdom, starting from the naves with the protagonists of the ancient world, disheveled sibyls and authoritative philosophers, up to the biblical subjects under the dome, in the presbytery and in the transept.
For access you can make the single ticket “Opa Si Pass” that allows you to visit the entire Monumental Complex of the Cathedral of Siena, except for the Porta del Cielo route.
